off to Vice City
Adult Swim has a usually somewhat funny show entitled Robot Chicken. Pretty much, this show has no limits, It has been known to make fun of just about everything. So naturally Mario and everything good from his universe has shown up several times. In one episode, one of the skits places Mario & Luigi in Vice City from the Grand Theft Auto Series.
Not so easy...
In the skit everything from the mario universe was compared to that of the Grand Theft Auto world. At one point Mario tries to break a real block (or building) and finds its not so easy. Luigi finds a real turtle, and they both accidently start commiting crimes. As this happens their criminal rating goes up like in GTA, and at the end, Mario & Luigi both are taken down by the police.
While the show implements some adult humor, and is not suitable for viewers of younger ages it got more than a few chuckles out of me, and did my heart good to know that some random animators out there are Mario fans.
